What does it mean to you to be part of the Roadrunner Nation? Being a part of the Roadrunner Nation is an honor. For me, it’s not just about getting my degree anymore but also creating relationships that will live on for a lifetime. We’re like a big family here, and I feel as though everyone plays a key role. Overall, I’m just thankful to be a part of it.

What do you plan to do after graduation? I plan to continue to develop as a videographer, use the skills in my business courses, and eventually grow into a successful entrepreneur.

Who is/was your favorite professor and why? If I had to choose just one, it would be Alicia Alderman. She is great at her job, and her dedication to her students is truly inspiring.

What are some of your favorite activities in and around Dalton? I would have to say lifting weights and shooting basketball would definitely be some of my favorites.

What is your best memory so far as part of the Roadrunner Nation? So far as a Roadrunner, my favorite memory would be the night I presented a motivational video for the Dalton State basketball team. The video was compiled of numerous shots I had filmed over the season and ended up having an impact on the players and coaches as they headed to the national tournament.

Favorite line from a movie? “The most important thing in life with always be family.” – Dominic Toretto in Furious 7.

What is your guilty pleasure? Chocolate chip cookies

What do you feel most proud of? My progress as a videographer. I’ve found my passion, and it has given me the opportunity to make a difference in those around me.

If you won the lottery, what would you do? I would invest it and allow it to grow so one day I would be able to support and give back to my family. Then, I’d spend a little irresponsibly.

What is a skill you’d like to learn and why? I’d like to learn how to sing well. I’m around music all the time and I think it would be cool to connect with it on that level.

What cheers you up? Music. Many people don’t realize just how much of an impact it can have on your mood. To me, it’s just fascinating, and it has cheered me up many times.

Who is your hero? My dad. He has taught me a lot about life and proves each and every day that he is the best father figure I could ever ask for.

As a Roadrunner, how do you Run BoldlyRoadrunners are born to run. The roadrunner is said to outrun and thrive in some of the harshest conditions. Being a Roadrunner is more than just a label, it’s a lifestyle. The term “run” is often used as a physical term one’s body endures; however, it’s also performed intellectually. In my opinion, running “boldly” is a run of the heart. When that feeling of uncertainty is discouraging, that forward motion continues and the urge to prevail is greater than ever. Personally, I’m discovering where my talents fit in around campus, on track to being the first in my family to graduate college, and putting in effort to build relationships. To “Run Boldly” is to take that leap of faith and become more powerful, more fearless, and smarter than ever before. It takes a certain breed, a certain amount of spirit to “Run Boldly”. So what are you waiting for? Take off.
